Automatically assign systems to a group

Patchdeck supports auto-assignment of new systems into system groups. You can attach a group to a client secret, ensuring that every client that is installed using this secret is automatically added to the specified group. This functionality makes group management more efficient.

To attach a group to a client secrets open your list of secrets at https://patchdeck.com/patch_management/authentication and follow these steps:

1. Click on “Attach group”
2. Select the group you want to attach to this secret

Please note that the attachment will only take effect on systems that are installed with this secret after the attachment was created and not reassign already installed systems.

You can always change the group attachment by clicking on “Attach group” and selecting another group. To clear all group attachments use the button “Clear group attachment”.
